Jim O’Reilly has been inducted into the RIRR Hall of Fame class of 2016.  Jim has a very impressive running resume both on and off the roads. He is a founding member of the Rhode Island Road Runners,  which evolved from the Rich Classic Athletic Club. He was elected club treasurer at the inaugural meeting on March 13, 1987 and served in this capacity for the following 6 years. He introduced the Ironman / Ironwoman and New England Cup awards.  For many years he was race director for RIRR’s annual club run out of Johnston.

Now onto the roads….Jim has many great personal bests including the Downtown 5K 19:36, Trackers 5 Miler 32:01, 10K spring run 39:18, Bristol 10 miler 68:55, Block Island 15K 64:05, New Haven 20K 1:22:40, Half Marathon 127:41, Stu’s 30K 2:27:40, Hyannis Marathon 3:38:49 (ran Boston Marathon 2 months later 3:38:51—-only 2 seconds slower).

Jim is a true ambassador to the Rhode Island Road Runners as he exemplifies leadership in supporting the goals and principles of our club.
